WARNER BROS. WORLD
Indoor Theme Park
Abu Dhabi, UAE
New Park - NOW OPEN -
Park News - (9/15/20) Ever since Warner Bros. World in Abu Dhabi opened I’ve been wanting to find a POV video of their Batman: Knight Flight attraction, said to be very similar in concept to Universal’s Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride system. At long last a video has been discovered, so check it out for yourself below.
(7/30/20) Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi is now open once again. Following a season passholder day held on July 28, the park opened to the public on July 29. Reservations are required along with the health screenings, social distancing and more. Face masks are also required at all times.
(2/5/20) Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi has announced that every Saturday at the park from Feb. 8, 2020 through to April 4, 2020 will now be DC Super Hero Saturdays. This special DC themed super celebration will give kids a chance to meet their favorite DC Superheroes in real life, including Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. Kids will get a cape as they enter (first come, first serve) and be invited to participate in a variety of special themed activities around the park with the characters, which will end with a special “glow in the dark” dance party.
(2/17/19) We love Dark Rides here at Screamscape and a reader sent in a link to a video showing off a unique new dark ride that opened with the new Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi park. Check out the video below to see “Justice League Warworld Attacks”, which uses the same style technology and concepts behind the everpopular Adventures of Spider-Man dark ride at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, taking guests on a romp into the center of the animated action as the Justice League battles the forces of Warworld in 4D.
Plus an awesome extra treat… it sounds like they got Kevin Conroy back to voice Batman.
(11/12/18) According to another article about Warner Bros World in Abu Dhabi, they say that in addition to the hotel they want to open in two years, there are also plans down the line to add a CityWalk style retail/entertainment development to the area. They are also looking into adding new attractions that would see the existing building expanded which could begin to happen as early as the next two years.
Asking around about what kind of attractions could be added in the future, apparently a number of concepts have been pitched, from interactive CGI character experiences to a drop tower ride of some kind, to things far more ambitious.
2021 - WB Abu Dhabi Hotel - (12/10/19) Confirming some earlier rumors, the world’s first WB hotel will open in Abu Dhabi in 2021. The new 250-room hotel, officially just called “WB Abu Dhabi” will open next to the Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi indoor theme park that opened last year and is expected to feature restaurants, a spa, a rooftop pool and more, with a decor that will “pay tribute” to the studios fantastic entertainment history. According to Forbes, the $112 million project is being funded by Miral Asset Management.
(11/8/18) According to this report the Warner Bros World theme park in Abu Dhabi will soon build a new hotel that will be built and semi-connected to the theme park. If all goes as planned the new hotel property should be open by the end of 2020, with 156 rooms and “156 apartments”.
