Park News - (12/21/11) According to this story the regional government’s 22% ownership stake in Terra Mitica has now been sold off to Aqualandia who has been leasing and running the park since 2010 with an option to buy. Attendance levels are still a prime concern at the park who had already been forced to reduce their workforce. Attendance in 2010 was already down 20% from the year before, at 520,000 guests. The 2011 figures have yet to be released. (3/14/11) Good news for Terra Mitica, as the park will reopen on April 16th with an all new management team and a new future investment plan in place to try and turn the park’s poor financial past around. (10/22/10) Lots of fuss over the restructuring being planned for Terra Mitica, as many job cuts are expected to be announced soon. (7/30/10) Control over Terra Mitica for the next ten years has now been given to Aqualandia, who also have the option to buy the park in the future. Read more here. 2011-2013 - 3 Phase Park Improvements - (8/24/10) The new owners of Terra Mitica have announced plans to spent $15 million Euros over the next 3 years to upgrade the theme park. The first step will be to great new green shade areas in the park, as well as improve some attractions. Phase 2 will be to make an private event area and Phase 3 will see a new entrance built as well as other improvements yet to be decided.
