General News - (3/13/08) Stone Mountain will be holding a nine day kids festival from April 5th to 13th called Spring Fun Break Festival. In addition to all the other events they will put a new film in the Tall Tales 4D Theater called Monster Trucks 4D.
 2008 - 50th Anniverary and Sky Hike - (5/5/08) Stone Mountain premiered their new 25th Anniversary Laser Show this past weekend, and you can read a bit more about the challenges in finding what to update and what sections people wanted left alone here.

(2/28/08) Stone Mountain has kicked off a year-long celebration in honor of their 50th Anniversary. Durring the year Stone Mountain will feature a new digitally remastered Lasershow Spectacular to celebrate the shows own 25th Anniversary. The new version of the show will kick off along with Summer at the Rock, the summer long celebration running from May 3rd to September 1st.
Also new this year will be a multimillion dollar addition called Sky Hike, a quarter mile adventure course built into the treetops. There will be three trails to choose from, a 12 foot beginner course, a 24 foot high trail for those more brave and a 40 foot tall “super challenge trail” for the dare devils. “Parents and kids can face the challenge together as they choose their level of adventure while secured to a patented overhead safety system. A variety of elements makes each hike a new experience - suspended wooden bridges, spaced out slats on swinging ropes, single strand ropes and vertical net bridges.”
2009 - Big Rock Water Park - Confirmed - (10/23/07) Screamscape has heard that the planned 2008 opening of the new Big Rock Water Park at Stone Mountain has been delayed until Summer 2009 due to the extreme drought in Northern Georgia.
(10/1/07) While there wont be an indoor waterpark resort, the Stone Mountain website does confirm that a “new waterpark” is under construction and will open in Summer 2008 next to the Golf Course Clubhouse. A big announcement is expected in the near future.
