Busch Gardens Africa Tampa, FL Busch Entertainment Corp.
Park News - (4/2/08) A local reader pointed out something worth noting for anyone planning on going to one of the Busch parks in Florida. When you go to purchase tickets in advance online you can enter the promo-code “ronaldorlando” to get to the discount prices. While this discount prices are the same as the regular online only discount prices, if you enter the promo code a portion of the ticket price goes to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. (3/18/08) We’ve got an update on those “new” Big Boy seats on SheiKra today. At first I was kind of confused because half of the readers who emailed in said that they didn’t see them on their visits to the park in the past few months. Meanwhile the other half claimed to have seen them as long ago as September. Coming in with what is the final answer I hope, it seems Busch Gardens may have started adding the extra rows of Big Boy seats shortly after SheiKra became floorless. The problem is that they didn’t do it to all the cars at the same time, but instead would wait until each train was due to be taken out for servicing and try to add them in then. The end result… it all depended on which trains they were running on any given day. The good news though is that over the weekend they were running five different trains on SheiKra at once and according to our original reporter, they were fairly certain all five of the trains now all had them in place in all three rows. SheiKra’s sister ride in Williamburg, Griffin, also features the Big Boy seats in all three rows as well, so this is a positive step in the right direction by Busch and I’ve got to wonder if we’ll ever see them add a Big Boy seat to every row on the more standard 4-across B&M trains throughout the chain. (3/17/08) I”m not really sure when this change took place, but a Screamscape reader noted that the trains on SkeiKra that used to only feature the “Big Boy” seats on seats 3 and 6 of the second row only now have Big Boy seats in the same spots on all three rows on each train. Anyone know when this change was made? This means that a few of our bigger coaster loving friends who have never had the chance to experience a front row ride will now have the opportunity to do so. (11/12/07) The price of an adult ticket to Busch Gardens Africa has gone up $3 this week to $65.
2008 - Jambo Junction - (12/20/07) Busch Gardens Africa is currently training 30 different animals to become used to being in close proximity to, and in some cases even handled by, the general public for a new interactive attraction called Jambo Junction. Guests “will have the opportunity to participate in animal feedings, lessons in husbandry and behavior training. Featured animals will include Caribbean flamingos, lemurs, cuscuses, sloths, opossums and baby animals.” Jamba Junction is not part of the new Jungala area however, but instead will be a renovation of the old petting zoo and animal nursery area that closed down back in 2001.
2008 - Jungala - (4/10/08) New pictures from Jungala have been posted to Johnny Upsidedown, CoasterDimension and Florida Thrills. (4/3/08) Screamscape has added a ton of new Jungala pictures taken earlier
