(12/19/19) While the first America Dream mega-mall has yet to finish opening, plans are now underway for a second one in Miami. According to Triple-Five they plan to begin construction on the $4.5 to $5 billion Miami version starting in 2021, and have it ready to open by 2025. They expect to be able to submit the final design plans for American Dream Miami before the end of 2020.
(5/19/18) Big news for the Miami area this week as the final approval was given to go ahead with American Dream Miami, a huge $4 billion development from Triple Five that will take the record for North America's biggest mall and entertainment center when it opens. It will be located on a 175 acre empty site where I-75 and the Florida Turnpike meet, just northwest of the Miami International Airport. In addition to the shops and restaurants you would expect, the development will have an indoor theme park, indoor skiing, a submarine ride, water park, skating rink and even an on-site hotel.
Currently Triple Five is in the final stretch of finishing up the first American Dream project in New Jersey, right across from MetLife Stadium next to the Meadowlands Sports Complex in time to open just before the end of the year.
(1/27/17) The local news reports that the American Dream Miami mall project has been given preliminary approval for the $3 billion project from the Miami-Dade commissioners, winning with a 10-1 vote. The approval process will now move on to the state level for another approval before coming back for one final local vote later in the year.
